Description
This alleyway in the island of Burano is rather charming. I watched and waited while people came and went, and found this the most evocative moment when two old men were walking towards each other, and before they actually met.
The peeling paint and the drainpipe in the archway are all elements of real life, as opposed to the gaudy facade of some touristy islands.
Burano seems to have its own genuine workaday life as a fishing village, and is not completely focussed on tourists, although it is very well worth a visit if you are a tourist.
This little square print is 25cm square and is available as an artist’s proof. It would work very well as an acrylic too.
