It’s so hot today I’m wishing myself elsewhere. In fact Iceland is on my mind, not surprising as I have been there at exactly this time of year. The lupin fields are incredible and I can’t help wondering if that’s how it looks at the moment.
I have also visited in winter when the top temperature of the day was -6C, and the overnight temperatures dropped to -16C. So maybe looking back at some of those pictures will help me feel cooler. Do you imagine you can ‘think yourself cool?’ – in the literal sense, rather than ‘street cool’!
I love the intimacy of this image with the close up of his eye and the sweep of the forelock over the eye adding a level of mystery. This is available in colour as well but I love it in black and white like this – and both are available framed, the one in black and white as the first of the Limited edition of 15 certificate number 257229. The colour version is 11/15 certificate number 257232. In the frame they measure 48cm wide x 39cm high.
The unframed versions belong to the same edition and are numbered 2-10 in black and white and 12-15 in colour.
I caught this foal looking back over his shoulder making a beautiful shape with the furry mane and neck and his ear half cocked towards me and wondering what I was up to. This is also available in black and white if you think it preferable, and both are available framed. The colour version is the first of the Limited edition of 15 certificate number 257230. The black and white version is 11/15 certificate number 257231. In the frame they measure 48cm wide x 39cm high
The unframed versions belong to the same edition and in colour are numbered 2-10 and in black and white numbered 11-15.
There is something wonderful about the resignation and acceptance by this horse of his place in the driving snow. There’s no shelter from wind or snow and the wind is strong as you can see from the driving snow.
I used a similar image as my Christmas card last year as it seemed like the appropriate image at the time.
The print is available framed as the first of the Limited edition of 15 certificate number 257234. It measures 67cm high x 50 cm wide.
The unframed versions belong to the same edition and are numbered 2-15
There’s something rather reflective about this extremely shaggy Icelandic foal as he turns his head and tucks in his chin against the freezing wind.
The print is available unframed and is the first of a Limited edition of 15 certificate numbered 257274, and measures 45cm wide x 37cm high
This little trio of yellow huts caught my eye in Iceland as they seemed to shine out a welcome into the snow.
The print is available unframed as the first of the Limited edition of 15, certificate 218797 and measures 37cm h x 45cm wide. It is available also as a black and white print, though in my view losing the yellow colour seems to take too much from the image.
So having read this I hope you feel cooler and attracted to the idea of Iceland in winter. It certainly was a memorable trip for me, and I hope you can enjoy it to some extent from these images. If you want to see more please go to the shop and have a look
